FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY THEY ARE RE-RELEASING “Saludos Amigos” and “The 3 Caballeros” as a new combo set!
No word on whether the laserdisc special features will be included.
I wish this would be on Bluray…. Disney’s choice of BD over HD-DVD was one of the main reasons I got a Bluray player in the first place. Those of you who have seen the Bluray vs. DVD comparison shots of Beauty and the Beast….you know what I’m talking about. It’s incredible.
And the best news? The new DVD is only 15 bucks.
Although like the other blog says, that could mean that it’s another crappy standard edition (perhaps pending a bluray release? **looks around suspiciously** )

Hey, thanks ReccaPhoenix for the plug & the comment. I wouldn’t rule out buying the set JUST yet, however. Besides, Disney could surprise ALL of us with the bonus features, which they still haven’t announced as yet. Although I wouldn’t be terribly surprised to see sparse bonus features like on the last DVD release of these movies.

Comment by bjwanlund January 26, 2008 @ 8:12 pmAlso, the Blu-Ray would ONLY be if Disney EVER tried to make a new high-def transfer of this movie, which seems increasingly unlikely. When Jerry Beck does his animation “open forum” on Shokus Internet Radio, I’ll ask him if he’s involved. He’ll probably give the standard denial.
