Three Caballeros Fan Art

Again, in lieu of “proper” content, and not wanting to go for a long time without posting anything, I’m presenting a selection of Three Caballeros-related artwork found on DeviantArt.  Just to be clear, these are not by me.

Anthropomorphized “human versions” of the three.

Wonderfully-drawn picture of the guys on the beach.

The caballeros in WW2-like military uniforms (I like!)

“Realistic” rendering.

Zé Carioca doing the whole Mary Poppins thing.

A badass rendering of the artist, Kuzco from The Emperor’s New Groove (hey, he IS South American and a llama), José, and Panchito.  I really dig this drawing despite its non-canon-ness.

Someone made their own SD 3 Caballeros figurines!  I would pay so much for these.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed these pics and that they filled the void in this blog sufficiently enough ^^;;

“Mystery” Donald and José

This happy scene comes from the Name This Toon blog.

“This is a cel from Two Happy Amigos, part of the Walt Disney Presents show of Feb 2, 1960. This is bridge material for segments from Saludos Amigos, which was aired a few years earlier. The new material was done to make the segments more updated and friendly to the TV audience.”

(comment by Brian Mitchell on the original post)

That comment seemed to me the most likely answer, as I can guarantee this is from neither Saludos Amigos nor The Three Caballeros.

Animation Backgrounds has posted a large variety of beautiful background art from the “Baía” sequence of The Three Caballeros:

Great Great Three Caballeros Fan Site!

Wow, Musa-chan, I think you’re the only person besides myself to devote so much energy and internetting to the Three Caballeros :D

This is a great little fansite, it even has some cute fanfiction and fanart!  Lots of unique stuff concerning the 3 Caballeros.  Definitely check it out!

Baía background

Hans Bacher over at Animation Treasures posted this lovely background from the “Baía” segment of “The Three Caballeros”: click here to see it. It’s really stunning. I think it’s true in general of disney movies that you really don’t notice just how amazingly detailed and beautiful they are until you look at stills or pause the movie. I really never noticed them until watching as a film nerd. :P

Themes (banners)

Changed the theme banner so Panchito would be there.

**UPDATE: this post is now the site of all our past banners up to Oct. ’07 when the banner was changed to the 4th one. In the future, all our past banners will be listed here for your browsing pleasure. Enjoy.

Previous banners (click for fullsize)

header3c2.pngThe site’s first banner. Very simple, very boring.  Very Mexican colors.

The 2nd one (still one of my faves :) ), “tico-tico twilite.” I thought it was too Brazil/Jose-centered though.

The 3rd one, “3 Happy Chappies,” decidedly more “Mexican” in feel. I later returned to this one after the theme I used with the 4th one had some display issues.

latinheader3.png The 4th banner, “Showtime!”  The most professional-looking in my opinion.

Saludos Amigos posters

saludos amigos posterA very old poster for “Saludos Amigos” from Carteles. You can click on it for the full-size image (which is very large). It looks a little cheaply drawn (Zé in particular, the colors are all off). The other poster is similar, but much better looking if you ask me. Continue reading
