Time to say goodbye. I am going to commit to leaving this site a “graveyard.”

I may be deleting some posts (or maybe all of them), so don’t be alarmed if something is missing. I know a lot of images are already missing because I never update this site anymore.

When I started this blog, I had a lot of time, few friends, and the wide-eyed ambition of a young college student with too many creative hobbies and not much focus. Becoming an adult and going to professional school has taken away a lot of free time, but also focused it onto the things that I did not have when I was younger: love, friends, a career path, and my health and fitness.

To all who love(d) this blog, I thank you so much. I hope that I have contributed something to your life or work, however small.

Much love,

Your humble narrator,

R. Phoenix

Roger Rabbit

This is pretty old, I just didn’t get around to posting it ’till now -_-;;;

MSN movies ran a list of their 10 favorite live action/animation combo films recently to celebrate the release of Enchanted….and the Three Caballeros was included, hooray!!! :D

Thanks to Steven at Loosetoon for the article.

HAPPY 2008 from Latin Baby

Baía background

Hans Bacher over at Animation Treasures posted this lovely background from the “Baía” segment of “The Three Caballeros”: click here to see it. It’s really stunning. I think it’s true in general of disney movies that you really don’t notice just how amazingly detailed and beautiful they are until you look at stills or pause the movie. I really never noticed them until watching as a film nerd. :P

Saludos Amigos, Bienvenidos a “Latin Baby!”

Hey everyone!  I’m Recca Phoenix, and I started this blog to collect interesting tidbits from all across the web related to Disney’s “Latin America” features, Saludos Amigos and The 3 Caballeros, and all their related characters and spinoffs.  I love both of these films very much due to my fascination with latin music and classic Disney, but noticed there really weren’t any resources dedicated to collecting stuff about these films in one place.

I will update this blog irregularly, meaning often or not very often, all depending on when I find new and interesting stuff related to Disney’s Latin flicks!

**change (June 2008): I have attempted to switch to regular updating, thanks to WordPress’s schedule feature, so expect new posts weekly.**

If the blog name seems strange to you, it comes from a line in “The Three Caballeros” song.

One last note – I am not fluent in Spanish but I have studied it enough to have a basic grasp.   I have not studied Portuguese at all.  I am workably fluent in Japanese, though.

All the features, characters, etc. discussed are copyright of Disney and I do not own them.
